“Star Wars Outlaws” is an upcoming open-world adventure game developed by Massive Entertainment and published by Ubisoft. Set between “The Empire Strikes Back” and “Return of the Jedi,” the game follows the story of Kay Vess, a young thief and scoundrel navigating the dangerous underworld of the Star Wars galaxy. Accompanied by her loyal companion Nix, a newly introduced merqaal species, Kay aims to pull off one of the biggest heists the Outer Rim has ever seen, hoping to secure a new life free from her past and the clutches of the Empire and various crime syndicates?
The game is designed to provide a rich, immersive experience akin to titles like “GTA” and “Red Dead Redemption 2,” featuring a dynamic crime and reputation system that affects gameplay and story progression. Players will explore diverse planets such as Tatooine, Akiva, and Cantonica, each with unique environments and challenges. The open world allows for various activities, including stealth missions, all-out blaster fights, and space combat in Kay’s ship, the Trailblazer.
“Star Wars Outlaws” emphasizes a cinematic narrative with a focus on character development and relationships within the criminal underworld. Kay Vess, portrayed by Humberly González, is depicted as a resourceful underdog, drawing inspiration from iconic characters like Han Solo and Indiana Jones. The game’s visual style is influenced by 1970s and 1980s aesthetics, aiming to create a timeless feel while enhancing the immersive experience with advanced graphics and detailed environments.
